On Friday, September 11th, 2015 at Los Angeles City Hall, EmpowerLA recognized the tireless work and commitment of twenty-one individuals to the Neighborhood Council System, individuals whose efforts make Neighborhood Councils successful in connecting Angelinos to City Hall.

Led by Lydia Grant, The Congress of Neighborhoods Planning Committee, was responsible for the planning and execution of the very successful event and awards ceremony, photographed by Krystee Clark.

Jay Handal and Terence Gomes were awarded for their contributions to the Councils for Councils (C4C) Program.

Jill Banks Barad, Glenn Bailey, Cindy Cleghorn, Judith Daniels, Kathy Delle Donne, Mary Garcia, Linda Gravani, Ginny Hatfield, Lydia Drew Mather, Mike O’Gara, Mark Seigel, Vic Viereck, and Tony Wilkinson were recognized for their contributions to the Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils Executive Committee.

Theodore Thomas and Lonella Joy Enix were recognized for their contributions to the South Los Angeles Alliance of Neighborhood Councils.

Yvonne Ellet, Molly Taylor, SuzAnn Brantner, and Monica Alcaraz were recognized for their contributions to the digital dialogue and social media presence of Neighborhood Councils in Los Angeles.
