Big thanks to everyone who attended our first Homelessness Resource Fair last Saturday! We are so inspired by your energy and your commitment to helping our homeless neighbors get back on their feet, and we appreciate you spending your weekend with us.

Thank you also to our presenting sponsors who helped make this happen: LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis, the office of Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Council President Herb Wesson, and City Councilmembers David Ryu and Jose Huizar.

Please check out coverage of the event below, as well as some info on where to start if you or someone in your neighborhood is experiencing homelessness and needs help.

What to do if someone needs help?

There are many agencies across LA County committed to helping the homeless, but it can be difficult knowing where to start.

LA-HOP  – the Los Angeles Homeless Outreach Portal – is a great place to begin. If you see someone who needs help, you can use this form on their website to give LA-HOP the details they need to assist that person, such as their location: https://www.lahsa.org/portal/apps/la-hop/request

You’ll also find more details on that page about what LA-HOP can or cannot assist with in terms of outreach and services, and there is info on other providers to contact for other types of services.

If you yourself are currently experiencing homelessness, LA-HOP can also help you find the resources you need, in whatever area in LA you need help in. Their number is (213) 683-3333 – you can call between the times of 7:30AM-3PM. If you would like to visit their offices, they take walk-ins, too. They are open between 10AM-Noon & 1PM-3PM for walk-ins, and their address is 811 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles 90017, located at the intersection of Flower & Wilshire on the 6th floor.
