Did you know that district-wide, only 16% of LAUSD students that graduate in four years complete the required college entry coursework? This rate is significantly lower for students living in South LA.

This Saturday, the Central Alameda, South Central, CANNDU, Voices of 90037 and Zapata/King Neighborhood Council(Forming Committee) are sponsoring a College Prep Workshop for students throughout the region.

College Application Preparation Workshop

The workshop will be hosted by MEChA de Maya Angelou HS and Union del Barrio and will offer presentations on topics such as:

  • college course requirements
  • financial aid
  • how to select the right college for you
  • resume preparation
  • help with essays and personal statements

When attending the workshop, please bring your high school transcripts and a writing pad and pen or pencil.
