This year’s Neighborhood Council Budget Day will be held on Saturday July 30, 2016. A chance to hear special guest speakers discuss budget priorities at City Hall and elect your new Budget Advocates!

Has your Neighborhood Council chosen your Budget Representatives for next year? Now is the time. The Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates are elected from a pool of citywide Budget Representatives on Budget Day. They work diligently to engage the community, City Council, General Managers, union leaders and community groups to create a White Paper of budget recommendations that is presented annually.

The Budget Advocates depend on funding from year end donations from our Neighborhood Councils and the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment. Funds are used to hold annual Budget Day, Regional Budget Days, Radio Shows and all outreach to the community. Please consider contributing to the NC Budget Advocates before the end of the fiscal year. All Board Resolutions allocating funds must be completed and submitted to jasmine.duckworth@lacity.org no later than Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Let’s keep any remaining funds within the Neighborhood Council system rather than return unused money to the City’s General Fund.

Please use our resources wisely. See you on Budget Day!
