GO-Biz to Host Regional Workshops and Webinars on How
Businesses Can Apply for the California Competes Tax Credit

You are invited to join the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) for a free workshop on how to apply for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC).

GO-Biz has available over $200 million in tax credits in fiscal year 2017-18. The next CCTC application period starts January 2, 2018.  Businesses interested in applying can register to attend any of the one-hour workshops and receive customized technical assistance from GO-Biz staff.  GO-Biz has also partnered with several organizations to help promote the workshops and encourage local businesses to attend the events. Importantly, GO-Biz is now offering Continuing Professional Education credit for Certified Public Accountants who attend any of these in-person one-hour workshops.

This program is open to any business planning to create new full-time jobs in the state, regardless of size or location.  Since 2014, GO-Biz has allocated $622.8 million to 865 companies projected to create 83,414 new jobs and $15.7 billion in new investments.

The online application can be accessed starting January 2, 2018 at www.calcompetes.ca.gov.

Members of the CCTC team are available to provide technical application assistance.  An application guide, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), program regulations, and a video explaining how to create an account are available here.
