The Los Angeles Department of City Planning invites you to help shape your neighborhood’s face and future by sharing your ideas on the direction the city’s Westside Community Plans should take. Community Plans are the blueprints that guide land use and growth in a neighborhood. Plans are being updated for Palms, Mar Vista, Del Rey, Venice, West LA, Westchester, and Playa Del Rey.
What is a Community Plan?
Community Plans define how land is used in a neighborhood. They are the blueprints that guide growth in our neighborhoods by stating the community’s vision for the future, establishing policies, and designating how land should be used, whether it’s for parks, housing, schools, jobs, or manufacturing.
The City Planning Department updates all Community Plans periodically, to ensure that they reflect the needs and vision of the neighborhoods they impact.
Discussion sessions kick off with a Planning 101 workshop explaining what Community Plan Updates (or CPU’s) are all about next Tuesday August 28th. See the full schedule of upcoming meetings and topics below.
Southeast Valley: This is their first round of outreach events for the following Community Plan Areas: North Hollywood-Valley Village; Van Nuys-North Sherman Oaks; and Sherman Oaks-Studio City-Toluca Lake-Cahuenga Pass. These areas include the following Neighborhood Councils: North Hollywood, Valley Village, Hollywood Hills West, North Hollywood West, North Hollywood Northeast, Greater Valley Glen, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, and Greater Toluca Lake.
