Studio City Neighborhood Council
Besides hosting an annual Green Living Fair, Studio City Neighborhood Council holds an annual Green Living Fair conducts workshops year-round to encourage residents and businesses to embrace sustainable strategies for saving water and eliminating waste. Mar Vista Community Council
Mar Vista Community Council (2012 EmpowerLA Award winner) annually hosts a "Green Garden Showcase" that tours local drought tolerant and food producing gardens operated sustainably. Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance
Citywide, the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance brings Councils together and has organized the Cool Blocks LA program to connect neighbors around a commitment to lowering their carbon footprint. Since its establishment in 1999, the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment has grown into the nation’s largest and most innovative initiative in civic engagement and citizen-based government through the “EmpowerLA” movement. With a network of 97 Neighborhood Councils, Los Angeles promotes public participation in government and works to improve government responsiveness to local concerns.
