Attend One of HCIDLA’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance Workshops

LA’s Housing + Community Investment Department (HCIDLA) is holding workshops on the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO), which regulates rents on about 600,000 Los Angeles rental units, and which applies to 85 percent of the City’s rental housing. Tenants, landlords, Neighborhood Council land use committees, and any Angeleno interested in learning more about the RSO is invited to attend one of their workshops, being held throughout the month of February.

The workshops will focus on landlords’ and tenants’ legal responsibilities under the RSO, including allowable rent increases, legal reasons for evictions, payment of relocation assistance, the RSO complaint process, and other issues. The workshop will also provide an update of changes in the law made in 2017.

These workshops are for tenants who want to know their rights. The presentations are especially helpful for new landlords, property managers and renters in the City of Los Angeles. They are also recommended for landlords and their family members who assist or will assist in managing their properties, banks, lenders, trustees, servicing companies, listing agents, and anyone contemplating buying or selling rental property in the City of Los Angeles.

Workshop dates, times and locations are as follows. Please RSVP, using this online form or calling (213) 928-9075. Please note that some sessions are being conducted in Spanish; however, translation is available for all sessions. To make a translation request, please phone (213) 928-9075 72 hours in advance of the workshop you plan to attend.
