Valley Measure A meeting to be held in Van Nuys on June 30th.

The Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust is hosting these meetings on behalf of the LA County Regional Parks & Open Space District, to inform community residents and local organizations about how they can advocate for — or apply for funding for — parks, gardens, recreation and open space projects in their own communities. Since LA County voters committed significant new funding for parks through Measure A, this is an important opportunity to create more healthy recreation and green spaces for LA’s children, adults, individuals and families — particularly in the parts of LA County like Van Nuys, Northridge, Mission Hills, Panorama City, North Hills, North Sherman Oaks, Reseda, Canoga Park and Winnetka that have a high need for improvements to existing parks, or which have very limited park access and need new parks.

Note that representatives from the County’s Regional Parks and Open Space District, as well as LA City’s Department of Recreation and Parks, will be present to discuss plans for expending Measure A parks funding in Valley communities.
