In light of the recent Southern California Earthquakes, and the fact that we know it’s not IF but WHEN we’ll get much bigger quakes that will affect us here in Los Angeles more adversely, Southern California Preparedness Foundation (www.SoCalPrep.us) is delighted to present Dr. Lucy Jones, noted seismologist and author.

Dr. Jones will show and tell us how to be a better prepared community for the coming 8+ magnitude earthquake, with shaking that will last MINUTES! Her talk, “Preparing for Increasing Risk from Natural Disasters”, will be presented on Friday, August 16th at 7:00 pm in Granada Hills (full details on the RSVP page). Dr. Jones’ new book, The Big Ones, will be also available for purchase and autographing afterward (starting about 8:00 pm), at a 10% discount off the cover price from Chevalier’s Books.

Due to overwhelming response to our first release of tickets that sold out very quickly, and exceptionally strong public interest, we have arranged for additional seating in the Gallery Room, next door to the room in which Dr. Jones is speaking, which will feature a live-streaming projection video and audio presentation.

In the “Gallery Room–General Admission” block that appears, click on the down arrow on the right and click for 1 or 2 people. Go to “Checkout” at bottom of page. You then have 8 minutes to fill in your registration information. Then click on “Complete Registration” and your ticket will be emailed to you. “Gallery Room” will appear on your ticket so the staff can direct you to the proper venue when you arrive.

Please note that recording and/or photography of her presentation materials and/or of Dr. Jones during her talk is not permitted. Outside food and drink (except water) may not be brought in to the venue.
