Public safety nonprofit Safe Moves: Safe Routes to School can help your Neighborhood Council bring traffic safety education events to schoolkids or adults your community, at no cost to you!

Traffic related collisions are a leading cause of death, particularly among young children. You can help protect kids in your area with a Safe Moves workshop. Their offerings range from workshops on walking to school safely, to bike or pedestrian rodeos. Topics covered in a Safe Moves presentation include:

  • Traffic signs and their importance
  • Traffic hazards and dangers as a pedestrian/cyclist
  • Responsibility and awareness as a pedestrian/cyclist
  • Crossing streets responsibly and safely
  • Unsafe pedestrian practices and alternative, safe, responsible practices that can be implemented and enacted instead

Workshops and events are offered in partnership with LAUSD and LADOT, and are available to schools and community organizations within LA County. To book a traffic safety event for your NC, contact Martha Sicairos at Safe Moves, at safemovesmartha@gmail.com or 818-786-4614
